GTA cheat guides: newest to oldest
GTA: London 1969: quick answer and scope
GTA: London 1969 cheats are entered as special names before play. This guide collects documented built-in entries, explains activation and separates edition limits. Choose your platform before copying a code; GTA games do not all share one input method.
How to enter the codes
Open character or name selection before starting: the game-specific method appears below. Enter the word belonging to your platform, confirm and check its effect during play. When a prerequisite activation is required, notably GOURANGA for GTA 2 on PC, complete that step before entering the desired code.
Useful cheats: what each effect changes
HERC belongs to PC names, while HAROLDHAND is a PlayStation entry. A single classic code can combine lives, weapons and multipliers; read the complete effect to understand the change. A documented * means the numeric-keypad asterisk during play, not an extra character to append to the player’s name.
Special names are entered at character selection. HERC belongs to the PC set and HAROLDHAND to PlayStation; a shared setting does not make the words interchangeable. Classic codes can bundle lives, weapons and multipliers into one entry. Where indicated, the asterisk means the in-game numeric-keypad * key. The product dates to 1999, distinct from the year depicted in its title.
Codes and combinations by platform
Open your platform’s group. Each row pairs an effect with its input; counts describe rows rather than unique effects. Code words and button sequences remain untranslated.

Editions, limits and common mistakes
London 1969 is a GTA mission pack rather than GTA 2 or a GTA III campaign. PC and PlayStation retain distinct words despite the shared London setting. The title’s year describes the setting; the original release was in 1999. London 1961 followed later and has a separate PC guide linked in the index.
Saving, undoing effects and continuing without cheats
Keep a separate save before experimenting. Re-entering a code does not reverse every effect, and editions can behave differently. An earlier save is the clearest route back to a previous state; check mission or achievement restrictions for your edition afterwards. Tables come from checked documentation, without claiming hands-on testing of every sequence on every machine.
