The information comes from Edge’s interview

GTA 6 will include rideable buses and trains, according to Edge’s October 29 feature. Phil Hooker describes checking routes and arrivals during testing. The reporting outlines an alternative to driving around Leonida, although the details needed for a route guide remain incomplete.

What changes when exploring without driving

FansGTA’s interpretation is that travelling as a passenger could change how players observe the city: the route and scenery can receive attention normally spent driving. This is an assessment of the feature’s appeal, rather than a test of comfort or speed. Its practical usefulness will depend on where boarding is possible, where services end and how the game communicates that information. A vehicle appearing in a screenshot does not, by itself, establish that it belongs to a rideable service.

The police detail reported by PC Gamer

PC Gamer today highlights another observation attributed to Hooker: if police do not see the character board and the character leaves the wanted area, he questions why officers would search that bus. This is a conditional explanation reported by the outlet, rather than guaranteed escape in every situation.

Those conditions matter when reading a headline about escaping on public transport. They do not establish a button that automatically clears a wanted state. Our police-system guide separately covers witnesses, identification and pursuit; this report focuses on the travel alternative. We provide no unverified escape route, minimum time aboard or reward.

Routes, tickets and fast travel: what is missing

The material reviewed does not provide a complete public route catalogue, fare table or verifiable instructions for skipping a journey. We therefore offer no station map and do not automatically import tickets or menus from other games. Being able to travel and being able to skip the trip are separate questions. Rideable transport also does not establish that every settlement is connected, that services are free or that players can drive every vehicle in the network.

How this fits with Leonida’s locations

For geographical context, our Leonida guide collects the locations Rockstar has introduced. That gallery helps identify settings but should not be used to invent connections between them. A future transit map will need stops, directions and routes checked in the game or explicit documentation. Until that evidence is available, regional descriptions and service lists remain separate. This report’s imagery provides official setting context, rather than documenting a journey taken by FansGTA.

Dates and information status

Checked October 30, 2026. Edge’s original interview is dated October 29; Mollie Taylor’s PC Gamer article is dated today and refers back to that feature. These are not two independent announcements. Rockstar’s official homepage still lists November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Controls, fares and specific routes require further information. We have not tested a copy of GTA VI.
