Two places for money, different exposure

Rob Nelson tells Famitsu that banked money is separate from cash carried by the character. The Japanese interview dates to August 28, 2026; the English translation checked was published September 9. This matters because the described risk concerns carried cash, rather than automatic confiscation of all wealth.

What the source says about Wasted and Busted

Nelson says being taken down or arrested puts carried cash at risk and describes losing it when the character is defeated by police or civilians. He therefore recommends depositing it safely. This does not supply hospital costs, legal fees or a fine table, or prove one penalty covers every situation.

A bank account should not be presented as financial invulnerability. The source supports separating reserves and exposure; other deductions, obligations or story events need their own evidence.

An example to understand the distinction

As an explicitly hypothetical explanation, imagine one reserve in the bank and another in your pocket. Depositing cash would reduce what you carry into a risky activity. No amounts are assigned because deposit limits, purchase minimums and transaction costs remain unverified. This is neither a recorded playthrough nor a tested profit strategy.

Deposits: why there is no invented menu walkthrough

A bank account does not establish that every operation uses a phone, ATM or named app. A walkthrough requires the access point, requirements and a demonstrated transaction. GTA Online’s menus and behaviour cannot simply be copied into GTA VI instructions. Similar services need not share a procedure.

A session budget can distinguish expected spending from savings, without assigning an optimal percentage. Unknown prices and access rules make a fixed recommended cash amount unjustified. Check balances before and after an action to identify which reserve changed. Future loss testing should record death or arrest conditions and avoid confusing an earlier purchase with the penalty. That makes it possible to explain the system without turning a coincidence into a fixed charge.

Earning money and protecting it are different questions

Our mission-funding guide examines income and progression. This page concerns preserving earnings. Hunting, car sales and robberies may provide income, but an earnings list does not answer how much cash is exposed. We promise neither hourly rates, bank interest nor an investment guaranteed to double funds: the necessary data is unavailable.

What to check in the release version

We would check how balances are distinguished, when cash changes and which deductions appear after death or arrest. General rules must also be separated from special missions. Checked November 1, 2026: official character and phone images are illustrative, rather than verified banking screens. This page sells no currency and links to no third-party money services.
