Identify the image’s origin
Look for the map’s creator and underlying material. A fan reconstruction may combine video frames, geographic comparisons and assumptions. That research does not make it a Rockstar-published map. A creator credit and methodology help explain its limits.
Do not treat estimated distances as game data
Perspective and editing make measuring distances from a video difficult. Two places that seem close may appear in separate sequences, and a visible road may not reveal its full route. Size, accessibility and world boundaries need specific evidence, not image comparisons alone.
How to read the FansGTA map
FansGTA now shows Rockstar-named regions with official images, without claiming verified positions or distances. This replaces the old demo map and lets readers explore the available material without confusing a reconstruction with the final map.
Why a reconstruction can change between versions
Community projects connect roads, buildings, coastlines and mountains across images. New material can revise an earlier hypothesis; that does not prove the studio redesigned its world. Look for a legend separating direct observation, estimates and unknowns. Visual polish does not replace an explanation of the method.
FansGTA now shows Rockstar-named regions with official material rather than a fictional island as the real map. Fan reconstructions can be referenced when their origin and usage terms are clear, retaining a non-official label. Any complete Rockstar map would also need a version check before supporting routes or collectibles.
